Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor - Mechanical Engineering
Position Summary
Villanova University's Mechanical Engineering Department seeks applications for a full-time non-tenure track visiting faculty position. This is an appointment for the fall and spring semesters of the 2026-2027 academic year. The primary responsibilities include teaching 12 contact hours for the semester, with typically two to three preparations. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Mechanical Engineering.
The Department is recognized as a national leader in providing a distinctive broad-based mechanical engineering education, grounded in Augustinian Catholic values, and a commitment to service. The Department has 18 full-time tenure track faculty members, 5 full-time teaching faculty, approximately 300 undergraduate (freshman through senior) students and more than 100 graduate students, and offers B.S. and M.S. (Mechanical Engineering) degrees. A Ph.D. program is offered by the College of Engineering.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teaching undergraduate courses and labs
Minimum Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or closely aligned discipline is required (must be completed at the time of hire).
- The applicant must demonstrate a dedication to teaching excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred.
