Visiting Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering.
Position Summary
AUIB invites applications for a Visiting Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering to support the delivery of its Introduction to Engineering course and to strengthen students’ foundational knowledge and skills in engineering. This is a teaching-intensive, fixed-term visiting appointment in the College of Engineering, focused on high-quality undergraduate instruction, hands-on laboratory delivery, and student mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Introduction to Engineering: Deliver lectures, design activities, and project-based modules that introduce first-year students to engineering thinking, the design process, ethics, teamwork, and professional practice across electrical and related engineering disciplines.
- If needed, teach core Electrical Engineering courses: Deliver undergraduate courses such as Circuits, Digital Logic Design, Electronics, Signals and Systems, Electromagnetics, or Microprocessors, aligned with ABET student outcomes and AUIB program specifications.
- Supervise laboratory and design projects: Lead undergraduate laboratory sessions (circuits, electronics, embedded systems, instrumentation) and supervise team-based design and capstone projects, integrating industry-standard hardware and simulation tools.
- Mentor and advise students: Provide academic advising, career mentoring, and individualized support to help students develop strong technical, problem-solving, and professional skills, with particular attention to first-year retention and success.
- Contribute to curriculum and accreditation: Support continuous improvement of the Electrical Engineering curriculum, contribute to ABET accreditation activities, develop course materials and assessments, and participate in department service, including student chapter advising (e.g., IEEE) and recruitment.
