Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar invites applications for a visiting faculty position in our top-ranked Information Systems program. This one-year position at Carnegie Mellon's campus in Doha starts in August 2026.

As a Visiting Faculty in Information Systems, responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate courses, university and program service in support of our educational mission. Successful candidates are also expected to contribute to research in collaboration with CMU-Q faculty and/or local partners.

The Information Systems Program at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar offers an undergraduate major which aims to educate local and international students to meet the increasing demand for information systems skills in Qatar, the Gulf region, and globally. We seek educators who can contribute to excellence in teaching, research, and service. Our needs are for candidates who can teach core information systems and concentrations courses and bring expertise in one or more of the following areas: emerging technologies and smart systems development, artificial intelligence, digital innovation, IS project consulting, business process intelligence, and related areas. About CMU in Qatar

CMU in Qatar (CMUQ) operates in concert with several other American and European branch campuses under the umbrella of Qatar Foundation's Education City (https://www.qf.org.qa/education/education-city). The branch campus closely follows the admissions requirements and English language curriculum of the home campus in Pittsburgh, USA which awards all degrees. The several thousand students in the Education City are a broad mix of nationalities, but primarily from the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia. CMUQ's faculty is a mix of professionals hired specifically for this campus and seconded by faculty from the main campus. CMUQ's primary focus is undergraduate education in Artificial Intelligence, Business Administration, Biological Sciences, Computer Science, and Information Systems.

Qualifications:

Appointments may be made at any rank within the Teaching Professor track, depending on qualifications and experience. The positions emphasize teaching excellence, curricular development, impactful research, and service.

• Have completed a PhD in Information Systems or related fields prior to starting work.
• A proven track record of teaching expertise in Information Systems.
• A proven track record of productive research in Information Systems.
• Exceptionally strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Desire to gain hands-on teaching experience.
• Be able to work independently, as well as in a team.
