The School of Architecture & Design at the Lebanese American University (LAU) invites applications for a Visiting Faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Architecture for the 2026–2027 academic year. The appointment will be made at the appropriate rank based on the candidate’s academic qualifications, teaching experience, professional accomplishments, and research contributions.

About the Program and School
The Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) program at LAU is a five-year professional degree accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) in the United States. The program emphasizes design excellence, critical thinking, and responsiveness to social, environmental, and technological challenges. Students engage in a rigorous curriculum that integrates studio work, theory, history, technology, and professional practice. The School of Architecture & Design is a vibrant academic unit offering programs in architecture, interior design, graphic design, fashion design and studio arts. It fosters a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment, encouraging innovation, research, and engagement with contemporary global issues. The school is housed in state-of-the-art facilities on both the Beirut and Byblos campuses.

Key Responsibilities
- Teach a senior-level design studio (Design VIII), which encourages experimental approaches and engages students in projects addressing sustainability in architecture, in addition to one or more courses in your area of expertise.
- Contribute to the academic life of the department through student mentorship and participation in reviews and events.
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in architecture or related fields.
- A minimum of three years of teaching experience
- Professional experience and a special ‘niche’ of research is a plus.

Terms of Appointment
- Start Date: Fall 2026 (September 1, 2026)
- Contract Duration: Academic year 2025-26, renewable based on performance
- Rank: Visiting Assistant or Associate Professor (non-tenure track)
