Visiting Instructor/Assistant Professor, Graphic Design
Summary of Job Duties
The Department of Art and Design seeks a committed educator to serve a 1-Year Visiting appointment in a generalist Graphic Design curriculum. Candidates should have knowledge of a diverse range of approaches in the field of graphic design. The successful candidate will teach introductory courses in Graphic Design, including those serving as Foundations courses for both Graphic Design and Studio Art majors. Candidates with emphasis in typography, branding, and publication design will be viewed favorably. The position is responsible for 24 contract hours annually (a 3/2 teaching load).
The Art Department at UAFS offers a B.A. in Studio Art, a B.S. in Graphic Design, and minors in Art History and Studio Art. The program holds NASAD accreditation.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach lower-level courses in graphic design and related courses, including Foundations; upper-level courses may be arranged in accordance with candidate’s area of expertise as needed by the department
- Assess and evaluate student learning
- Facilitate and respond to diverse student learning needs
- Employ an inclusive and inventive approach in the classroom
- Other duties as assigned
