Visiting Instructor/Lecturer/Assistant Professor LLC Graduate Leadership Programs (Temporary Employee Pool)
Job Description
The University of the Pacific, Benerd College seeks instructors to teach in person and/or online classes on a part-time basis to students in our Learning, Leadership & Change Programs. These include our MA in Leadership (Organizational Innovation and Change, Leadership for Social Justice), MA in Education (Learning, Innovation and Design), and Doctorate in Education (Transformative Action in Education, Educational Leadership and Innovation) programs.
Visiting Instructors/Lecturers/Assistant Professors are part-time, non-tenure-track employees, contracted via mutually-signed offer letters, to teach specific classes during specific semesters as outlined in the offer letter. Faculty rank and title are contingent upon the successful candidate's experience and qualifications.
All part-time faculty are expected to: Complete all employment documents and any required training; Prepare for your course, including obtaining the approved syllabus; Provide a classroom environment conducive to learning; Teach the assigned course(s) as published; Track student attendance; Use the University's LMS (CANVAS); Read submitted student work and provide feedback; Meet with students during office hours; Schedule make-up classes if needed; Grade assessments and submit grades; Review student evaluations.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must hold a graduate degree in a relevant field (Master's for MA courses, EdD or PhD for EdD programs).
- Five (5) years of relevant professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior higher education teaching experience.
- Content and pedagogical knowledge for the specific course.
- Ability to teach adult learners.
- Experience teaching or working with students online.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching in diverse settings.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion.
- Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative but not definitive of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions. Successful applicants must have their own device and reliable internet access. Duties require extended periods of sitting, standing, bending, stooping, and occasional walking and lifting (max 25 lbs).
Work Environment: Work schedule is to be determined by department upon hire. Work is performed in a standard classroom environment.
