"Visiting Instructor of Accounting (Part-Time - 2 Courses)"

Gustavus Adolphus College invites applications for a part-time, one-semester Visiting Instructor position in the Department of Business and Economics, starting January 1, 2026. This is a unique opportunity to share expertise with motivated undergraduate students at a leading liberal arts college.

Applicants must have current authorization to work in the United States. Gustavus will not sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.

Employment Type: Part-Time; Exempt (Salaried); $4,900 per 4-credit course; In-Person Instruction

Position Overview:

• Teach two sections of Financial Accounting during the spring semester, which is a foundational requirement for many business students. If there is mutual interest, there may be an opportunity for continued employment with flexibility in course assignments.
• Time Commitment: Part-time, in-person position for the spring semester, ending on May 1, 2026. Courses are typically held on M-W-F or T-Th.
• Responsibilities: Use real-world experience to bring accounting concepts to life, helping students understand the importance of financial reporting and analysis. Course materials are available if preferred.

Prerequisites:

• A graduate degree (MBA, MAcc, MBT, or equivalent) is preferred, but significant professional experience in accounting will be considered.
• A current or prior professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, CFE) is required.
• Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and passion for working with students.
• Experience with innovative teaching strategies and working in public accounting is a plus.
