Visiting Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor of Computer Information Systems
The Department of Applied Computing at Lander University invites applications for the position of Visiting Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor of Computer Information Systems, starting in January 2026. We are looking for candidates who demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate students. The ideal candidate will possess the expertise to teach a variety of core computing courses, such as introductory programming, information systems, e-commerce, system analysis and design, computer architecture, data science, and database systems. A Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field is preferred, with completion expected before or within 6 months of the hire date. However, candidates with an M.S. degree and prior teaching experience will also be considered. The position title, either Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor or Visiting Lecturer, will depend on the candidate’s degree status. The contract period is nine months.
A strong commitment to excellence in teaching is essential. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate a record of outstanding instruction, particularly in working with a diverse student body.
This is a nine-month appointment with a standard teaching load of 15 contact hours per semester. Additional responsibilities include service at departmental, college, and university levels.
