Visiting professor in conflict and security in the Asia Pacific
The Department of Political Science in the Faculty of Social Sciences is looking for a part-time (10%) visiting professor in the field of Conflict and Security in the Asia Pacific.
Position
- You will provide high-quality education in the field of International Relations.
- You will coordinate and teach one seminar course on ‘Conflict and Security in the Asia Pacific’ (6 ECTS) in the Master’s program International Relations and Diplomacy.
- You will play a role in developing activating, student-centred, and competence-driven education.
- You will supervise students and their Master theses.
Profile
- You hold a PhD in the field of International Relations, Political Science, or a related field.
- Your teaching competencies are in line with the University of Antwerp’s educational vision.
- You act with attention to quality, integrity, creativity, and cooperation.
What we offer
- We offer a part-time appointment for a period of one year. The level of your appointment (assistant professor, associate professor, professor, or full professor) is determined on the basis of your professional experience and academic qualifications.
- Your gross monthly salary is calculated according to the pay scales for a visiting professor in the Contract Research Staff category (Dutch: Bijzonder Academisch Personeel, BAP). If you work part-time, your salary is calculated proportionally on the basis of your employment percentage.
- You will receive ecocheques, a group insurance, an income protection insurance, and a bicycle allowance or a full reimbursement of public transport costs for commuting.
- The planned start date is 1 November 2025 or as soon as possible after that date.
- You will do most of your work at the ‘Stadscampus’ in a dynamic and stimulating working environment.
