Organization Profile: The Government of India, through the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoP&NG), has set up Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), Jais, Uttar Pradesh on the lines of IITs under the Act of Parliament 54/2007. It is an Institution of National Importance, promoted by leading Oil PSUs, and offers programs like B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, and Ph.D. It has centers in Bengaluru and Assam.

Employment Type: Temporary basis as per Institute norms.

Job Title: Visiting Professor/Visiting Assistant Professor/Postdoctoral Fellow in departments including Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, and Mathematical Sciences.

Departments and Positions:

Minimum Qualification for Visiting Professor and HOD: Professors recently superannuated from IITs, age preferably less than 70 years, with administrative experience as Head of Department/Dean for at least three years. Duration: Initially one year, extendable up to one more year. Emoluments: Consolidated Rs. 1,50,000/- per month. Duties: Teach assigned courses, conduct seminars, and may handle administrative duties.

Minimum Qualification for Visiting Assistant Professor/Post Doctoral Fellow: PhD with first class or equivalent in the appropriate branch, very good academic record. For Post Doctoral Fellow, less than one year of post-PhD experience. Age limit: Less than 32 years for Assistant Professor and 30 years for Post Doctoral Fellow. Duration: Initially one year, extendable up to one more year. Emoluments: Up to Rs. 1,50,000/- per month. Duties: Teach courses, develop laboratories, conduct research, and may handle administrative duties.
