in improving their experimental design skills and their oral and written presentation skills. Multiple resources for career development to aid with these requirements will be provided by the PI. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Design, perform and analyze experiments focused on mammalian cell culture including isolation and expansion of cells from bot murine and human tissues; perform cell survival assays; and transfection of mammalian cells. Assist in maintaining laboratory instrumentation such as centrifuges, electrophoresis, and confocal microscopes. Assist in the establishment of performance standards, the selection of research methodologies and instrumentation, and coordination of experimental approaches in support of CNM research. Keep up to date on the relevant literature in both peer-reviewed and preprint form and assist the PI in preparation of manuscripts and grant applications relevant to own experimental work. Assists in the instruction and training of students (undergraduate/graduate) in techniques and procedures of the laboratory. Minimum Education and Experience: Qualified candidate(s) should be a recent graduate; bachelor's degree is required; master's degree in biology or biomedicine preferred. Majored in Medicine, Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or relevant biological sciences. Must have written and published scientific articles. Prior experience with biomedical research (either basic or clinical research).
