Vitreoretinal Surgeon or Medical Retina Specialist

The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS) is seeking candidates for a Vitreoretinal Surgeon or Medical Retina Specialist involving patient care, teaching, and research.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Provide vitreoretinal surgical and/or medical retina patient care at UW Health Hospital and Clinics, potentially including the Williams S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital and regional UW Health eye care sites.
- Participate in resident/medical student/fellowship education.
- Participate in and conduct clinical trials in vitreoretinal eye diseases.
- Perform administrative duties as required.
All faculty members are required to teach medical students, residents, and fellows, and participate in administrative and committee work.

School of Medicine and Public Health/Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences/Retina Service. The Department has a reputation for cutting-edge research, compassionate patient care, and training programs.

Compensation:

Required Qualifications:
- Board Certified/Board Eligible by American Board of Ophthalmology by start date.
- Residency training in a U.S. Ophthalmology Accredited Program by start date.
- Fellowship training in Vitreoretinal Surgery or Medical Retina by start date.
- WI Medical License, or eligible for license, by start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates for Associate Professor (CHS) and Professor (CHS) rank must meet criteria per SMPH guidelines.
Education:
M.D. or equivalent required.
