Water Stewardship as Strategy: Designing Corporate Resource-Risk Frameworks

About the Project

Water scarcity is becoming a strategic constraint for many organizations, especially in sectors where production, infrastructure, agriculture, energy, or digital operations depend on reliable water access. Yet many firms have not fully integrated water risk into enterprise risk management, investment decisions, or board-level strategy.

This DBA research opportunity focuses on the design of corporate water stewardship and resilience frameworks. Possible research directions include water stress scenario planning, responsible sourcing, wastewater treatment, climate adaptation, resource-risk management, ESG metrics, and board oversight of natural resource exposure.

This opportunity is particularly relevant for experienced professionals in beverages, semiconductor manufacturing, data infrastructure, agriculture, energy, sustainability, risk management, or supply chain operations. Candidates may design a water stress scenario matrix, corporate stewardship model, or decision framework for integrating water risk into strategy.

The expected contribution is a practical artefact that helps organizations frame water stewardship as a source of resilience, risk mitigation, and long-term value creation.
