The Web Developer is responsible for the development and maintenance of the College website. This role involves maintaining digital content, ensuring accuracy, and adhering to College standards.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements SEO strategies, monitors site performance using Google Analytics, and generates reports.
- Serves as liaison with vendors for website-related tools and platforms.
- Centralizes vendor communication for consistency.
- Structures content for SEO best practices, including metadata and keyword strategy.
- Manages Google Ads campaigns to improve visibility and ROI.
- Monitors search engine placement and competitor benchmarking.
- Creates and manages digital profiles like Google Business Profiles.
- Plans and maintains website templates for consistent branding and functionality.
- Trains college personnel on website development.
- Supports personnel with website issues via ticketing system.
- Upholds website style guidelines for branding and accessibility (WCAG 2.1).
- Designs and optimizes content for mobile-first experiences.
- Collaborates on responsive designs and voice search optimization.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, graphic design, digital media, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two to four years of experience in web design or digital marketing with a portfolio of responsive, SEO-optimized websites.
- Experience with mobile-first and accessibility-compliant designs.
- Familiarity with voice search optimization and tools like Google Ads and Analytics.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships and strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Certifications in Google Ads, Google Analytics, SEO, or UX/UI design.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or CMS platforms.
