Paediatrician for Paediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) Division
The Department of Paediatrics, Children's Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre and Western University, London, Ontario, Canada, is seeking a fully certified Paediatrician for our Paediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) Division. The Division is composed of the Clinical Teaching Unit (CTU), which provides a comprehensive in-patient service to a population of about 1.5 million in southwestern Ontario, as well as an expanding range of ambulatory clinics. As the hub of a rapidly expanding tertiary children’s hospital, the CTU provides acute care for children with a wide variety of paediatric conditions, including admissions locally from the Emergency Department, transfers from other hospitals within the region, as well as from the Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Units. In addition, children with complex care needs are cared for by a dedicated team composed of select PHM paediatricians, nurse practitioners and other allied health staff. The Division works closely with our subspecialty colleagues in a collaborative manner, in both clinical and research endeavours. The Division is central to the undergraduate and postgraduate training program at Western University, with key leadership positions in education currently being held by Paediatric Hospital Medicine faculty.
The successful candidates will be clinical academic paediatricians and hold a full-time Limited Term Clinical Academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, or a Continuing Clinical Academic appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, depending upon qualifications and experience at the time of appointment.

Subspecialty certification in Paediatrics from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent is required. The successful candidates will have experience in the care of acutely ill children and will be expected to contribute to the CTU and complex care on call services, as well as ambulatory clinics. The successful candidates will have a keen interest in paediatric hospital medicine, the ability to collaborate effectively with all other members of the health care team and office staff, and will be expected to participate in team-based health care and teaching, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to contributing to academic deliverables, including continuing medical education and research. Preference will be given to candidates with additional training and/or qualifications in the areas of complex care, patient safety and/or medical education.
