Salary: The starting salary for the position is $50,000 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Reporting to the Director, the Program Coordinator is responsible for fostering community engagement through artmaking experiences for a diverse audience including students, faculty, and community members. This role supports the planning, coordination, and execution of studio programs, workshops, and special events, while also ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment. The Program Coordinator collaborates closely with staff, instructors, and campus partners to enhance the student experience, manage day-to-day studio operations, and help grow the visibility of Wheelhouse Studios as a creative hub on campus.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Identifies opportunities for program improvement or new outreach program development
- Identifies, promotes, and maintains internal and external partnerships to promote the outreach program
- Schedules and secures logistics and resources in support of an outreach program
- Directs the implementation of program policies and procedures
- Schedules day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers

Required Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience facilitating art experiences in a community or educational setting
- At least 2 years of experience with event planning or program coordination
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to keep multiple projects running smoothly
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit
- Prior experience and/or genuine enthusiasm for working with college students in a creative environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with studio management or arts administration
- Comfort working across a variety of art media
- Awareness of current trends in artmaking, DIY, and creative culture – with the ability to design programs that feel fun, relevant, and engaging for today’s students
Education: A degree in Art, Art Education, or a related field — or equivalent experience that shows your creative expertise
