Work Assistant
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Work Assistant for the Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Work Assistant assists with several research studies relating to Diabetes and Metabolism. The successful candidate must be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and self-directed, with strong interpersonal skills.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Maintains accurate, organized, and up-to-date records of procedures and analyses using both paper and electronic platforms.
- Assists with ongoing research projects, including but not limited to mouse studies, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry.
- Assists with and performs bioinformatics analyses of high-throughput sequencing data.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Undergraduate student studying in a relevant science plus at least one (1) year of related experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Physical Demands: Reading, standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. Lifting up to 25 lbs. BSL2+ laboratory environment; exposure to study subjects in a clinical environment and exposure to research animal models.
Work Environment: Office environment with moderate noise.
