Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Coordinator
Job Description:
- Lead the end-to-end placement experience, fostering positive placement experiences for students and industry
- Build and strengthen partnerships with industry and alumni within the Sport, Exercise and Health sector, contributing to student employability
- Work collaboratively across the wider WIL network to strengthen work-integrated learning across programmes.
Permanent, full time (1.0FTE) position based at AUT’s North Campus with the School of Sport, Exercise and Health.

The Opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi
This is a permanent, full-time position supporting the School of Sport, Exercise and Health and the wider Faculty, reporting to the Manager – Placements and Compliance. The Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Coordinator supports the effective delivery of WIL across the School of Sport, Exercise and Health and works collaboratively with the wider Faculty placement team, contributing to productive and positive placement experiences for students and industry.
You will coordinate WIL processes, including managing student placements, supporting academic staff and maintaining systems and data to ensure efficient and compliant delivery. The role also leads relationship management with industry partners and alumni, identifying new opportunities, contributing to student employability outcomes.
Working across a broad stakeholder group, you will engage with academic staff, student administration teams and external partners, while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Through this role, you will contribute to AUT’s Te Aronui framework by supporting equitable access to meaningful learning experiences and strengthening partnerships that enable positive outcomes for students, communities and industry.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A relevant tertiary qualification, ideally aligned with Sport, Exercise and Health
- At least five years’ professional experience within the Sport, Exercise and Health sector
