- Work with career center team members to increase student participation in Handshake and career development programming;
- Participate in various team projects at the university career center.
- Give employer tours around campus and take them to each of their appointments,
- Help the employer with loading in and out, carrying their items from their car to the location
- Must be able to be calm in tense situations
- Check employers into the events
- Make sure they have nametags, and other key items
- Provide employer with water, refreshments and services as their hands while on camps
- Use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Instagram, Linkedin;
- Use of career-related technology and electronic databases.
- Student must have high integrity as employers can give you their resources to watch or secure
- Must be flexible
- Strong communication skills
- Comfortable working with technology based services;
- Proven ability to work independently while functioning as a team member;
- Strong abilities in time management, event organization, and managing multiple projects and details;
Wage employees are paid an hourly rate for actual hours worked and are limited to working 1500 hours per year and can only work a maximum of 29 hours a week. Work hours must be counted on the basis of the twelve-month period beginning May 1 of each year and April 30 of the following year. Wage employees in all agencies (all branches of government) are limited to working no more than 1500 hours during each twelve-month period of May 1-April 30. Should you work 1500 hours prior to April 30, your services will be terminated immediately. You will not be eligible for employment again until May 1. It is the responsibility of the employee and supervisor, as well as the Office of Human Resources, to monitor these hours to ensure compliance to policy. Wage employees may not earn leave nor do they have access to the Grievance Procedure process. They are not covered by the provision of the Virginia Personnel Act and are not entitled to the benefits afforded employees occupying classified positions.
