Minimum required education and/or special licenses, registrations, trainings, or certifications

A Ph.D. or Ed.D. is required in a field related to Human Resource Development-Training, Career and Technical Education, Workforce & Organizational Development, or an equivalent that will enable the candidate to specialize in an area of research, teaching, and service.

Minimum required level and type of experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities

1. Proven ability to teach online courses effectively.
2. Experience mentoring graduate students.
3. Demonstrated ability to lead academic programs.
4. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
5. Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic community.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in delivering online courses in different modalities is preferred, e.g., synchronous, asynchronous, and blended.
• The candidate is expected to demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusiveness and a willingness to work in a multicultural setting, as well as a commitment to participating in program governance and decision-making.
• Experience with program development or curriculum design. Scholarly writing experience, including publishing peer reviewed manuscripts.
• A background overlapping more than one of career and technical education, human resources training, workforce development, and the community college system.

The Department of Educational Leadership & Workforce Development is one of five departments in the Darden College of Education and Professional Studies. The department has twenty full-time faculty that offer graduate programs in Workforce and Organizational Development, Community College Leadership, Educational Leadership, and Higher Education Leadership.
