We’re ranked among the top 30 UK universities globally. This role is based on our Whiteknights campus which has held a Green Flag Award for 15 consecutive years. In 2025, we were named Sustainable University of the Year by The Times and The Sunday Times and ranked in the top 50 globally for our impact on sustainable development (THE Impact Rankings).

This is an exciting time to join the HR Directorate to redevelop the University’s approach to and analysis of workforce and MI data. As an MI Analyst, you will support the Workforce Data and MI Manager in maintaining the Powerbi dashboards and will play a key role in supporting how the University uses data to understand its workforce, support strategic decision‑making, and deliver high‑quality management information across our HR systems

You will apply your analytical expertise to maintain dashboards that bring clarity and meaning to complex workforce data. Working closely with colleagues across HR and the wider University and reporting to Workforce Data and MI Manager, you will help shape our data strategy, ensuring leaders have timely and accurate insight to support planning, performance, and delivery of institutional priorities. You’ll play a key role in preparing and coordinating the University’s statutory HESA staff data return, ensuring high standards of data quality, regulatory compliance, and timely submission to national bodies.

You will have :

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to offer evidence-based insight from analysis of complex data
  • Experience developing dashboards, reports or automated data solutions using tools such as Power BI, Excel, Business Objects, or similar
  • A strong understanding of workforce, HR or organisational data and the ability to translate business needs into analytical outputs
  • Experience ensuring data quality, accuracy and compliance within complex organisations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to explain analytical findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Experience in preparation and successful submission of relevant HE workforce datasets and management information such as HESA, REF, TEF etc.
  • Experience working in higher education setting

We welcome applications from both external and internal candidates. As part of the University’s ongoing commitment to professional development, this role can be considered on a seconded basis for existing staff members. Internal candidates should discuss this with their line manager prior to applying.
