Position Highlights

The Workforce Development Trainer will implement programs to recruit, train, prepare, and certify eligible community members to become peer recovery support specialists and recovery-oriented family support specialists, and provide ongoing services to support them in developing the competencies needed to provide person-centered, strengths-based recovery services in a variety of settings. Training programs include the Recovery Support Specialist Institute, the Parent and Family Support Specialist Institute, Wellness, Family Wellness Planning, Advocacy, Recovery-Oriented Integrated Care, etc.

  • This position requires certification as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist, eligible to provide Peer Support services in Arizona.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Facilitate recovery-oriented didactic and experiential trainings for individuals seeking certification as Peer Recovery Support Specialists and Parent & Family Support Specialists. Assist in adapting curriculum to meet the needs of different populations and service areas.
  • Provide ongoing support, consultation, and professional development for individuals in training and newly credential peer recovery support specialists and parent and family support specialists, including assisting individuals with obtaining computer skills, overcoming barriers to fingerprint clearance, developing resumes, interview skills, documentation skills, and hard and soft skills for working on integrated healthcare teams and providing recovery-oriented support services.
  • Assist with candidate recruitment, selection, orientation, assessment, evaluation, ongoing support, and follow-up processes.
  • Complete required documentation in compliance with CSA certification, RBHA and AHCCCS requirements, such as progress notes, monthly summaries, assessments, incident reports, etc, maintaining CSA certification requirements, including required trainings, TB clearance, etc.
  • Collaborate with team members and colleagues for program development, implementation, coordination, and continuous quality improvement.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • This position requires significant expertise in establishing trust and building a rapport with community members and families experiencing significant health, social, environmental, educational, and economic disparities, particularly community members living in rural areas who are insured through AHCCCS (Medicaid).
  • This position requires the ability to help members of disparate rural populations overcome barriers so that they can acquire the skills needed to find, obtain, and sustain employment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • One year of relevant work experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Certification as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist eligible to provide Peer Support services in the state of Arizona.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
