WU Regional Physician – Neurology
Position Summary
Outstanding opportunities exist for general neurologists to join Washington University Regional Physicians (WURP) and practice in a community setting with ties to one of the country’s leading academic neurology departments and the largest provider of neurological services in the St. Louis region.
WURP physicians practice independently in a community setting while staying connected to WashU Medicine Neurology giving you access to all its subspecialties, educational conferences and professional development opportunities; a voluntary faculty appointment is available if desired. As a member of the WashU Medicine team, you will enjoy ready access to WashU physicians in all medical and surgical specialties. The practices, located in multiple St. Louis area locations, provide the opportunity to provide EEG, EMG and Sleep Medicine services. No stroke call required.
Community hospitals affiliated with the practices have earned the Joint Commission’s Gold Standard of Approval for certification as Primary Stroke Centers and serve a catchment area of more than one million people. The hospitals are members of BJC HealthCare - the market leader in the St. Louis region.

Inpatient Position Highlights:
- Excellent opportunity for stroke neurohospitalists and neurohospitalists.

- Busy practice averaging 10 - 12 patients a day.
Outpatient Position Highlights:
- Flexible general neurology practices with an option for outpatient-only or outpatient with some hospital coverage; Monday-Friday, flexible clinic schedule.
- Opportunities for EEG, EMG and Sleep Study reading.
- Practice is well-supported by nurses dedicated to neurology care and certified medical assistants.

Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients, ensuring evidence-based and compassionate clinical management.
- Coordinates with nurses, advanced practitioners, specialists, case managers, and ancillary staff to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
- Records all patient encounters, orders, and follow-up information accurately in EPIC to meet WashU Medicine and regulatory standards.
- Maintains active licensure and privileges, complies with WashU Medicine policies, and upholds ethical, regulatory, and confidentiality requirements.

Required Qualifications
Education: M.D., D.O., Or Equivalent Degree From An Accredited Medical School

More About This Job Required Qualifications:
- Hold or be eligible to obtain medical license(s) in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in specialty area.
- Completed accredited residency program in Neurology

Salary Range
Base pay is commensurate with experience. The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
