| 1.00 | Summary: Only suitable for highly independent PhD candidates who require zero guidance. For Master’s students, his supervision style is actively damaging and can jeopardize your future academic career. Core Issues with Supervision and Grading: 1. Contradictory Feedback & Unfair Grading: Throughout several interviews (so called defense sessions), the professor explicitly praised my written thesis, calling it remarkably well-written and admirable. I even received the highest grade in the thesis seminar presentation because my topic and research approach were exceptionally strong. Despite this, he used the oral interviews to intentionally trap me with hyper-specific questions to justify giving me a mediocre grade, claiming my "understanding was bad." 2. Severe Bias Against Working Students: If you secure a job before graduation, this professor automatically assumes you are neglecting your studies. Instead of evaluating the actual written work fairly, he used the defense interviews punitively to validate his assumption that I "only cared about the job." 3. Unreasonably Harsh Standards Compared to the University: Other professors across different technology and engineering departments in this same university do not even conduct oral defense interviews; they grade directly based on the quality of the written work and award good grades fairly. This professor, however, expects independent PhD-level expertise from a Master's student without providing the foundational guidance a supervisor is supposed to give. 4. Damaging Academic Consequences: While my grades across all other courses were excellent, this single supervisor's biased and unfair grading heavily impacted my GPA. As a result, it ruined my opportunities for PhD admissions and research positions in academia. Advice to Future Students: Do not be fooled by his impressive research profile. Avoid choosing him as a supervisor if you are planning a future career in academia or if you intend to work towards the end of your studies. His grading process is deeply biased and can ruin your academic prospects, even if your actual thesis write-up is outstanding. | University of Turku | Aug 18, 2026 |

| 1.00 | I did a postdoc with her, and she made no contributions to my research: no insights during meetings, no support, nothing. Her only contribution was adding her name to the drafts as a corresponding author and including other colleagues whom, I assume, she owed a favor. | University of Antwerp | Aug 17, 2026 |
