“Pak Heru won’t use the book, he’ll only use it if we’re lacking points. MAKE SURE TO PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS AND TAKE NOTES. The quizzes come from his materials, and most of his classes focus on how we derive the equations. As long as you can form the equation from the basics, you’ll get points. PLEASE MAKE THE FREE-BODY DIAGRAM ON. EVERY. SINGLE. ANSWER. Pak Heru rarely comes late, so be early. Make sure to sit in the front row because you won’t see anything if you sit in the back. Follow along when he explains, because he gives a lot of explanations while writing on the board, but he doesn’t write those explanations down. Half of the semester (the early part) he uses Halliday & Resnick 10th ed for practice questions, and for the rest he focuses on helping us understand how the equations work. My second quiz didn’t even have numbers. But he’s great—as long as you submit your notes every class and submit the assignments. Also make sure to be active in class; he helps a lot. Don’t be shy. I know it can be a bit intimidating, but just ask. Don’t ever leave the class without understanding anything, or you’ll be doomed. Physics 1 is the foundation, so please understand it fully. And don’t go home if you don’t understand the material. Go to the library, CCWS, café, anywhere but your bed. Because in my case, I never studied when I got back to my kost, and I had to learn it the hard way. Fighting y’all.”
