The Notre Dame Campus hosts the Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies, an interdisciplinary hub within the University of Notre Dame's Keough School of Global Affairs. This campus focuses on advancing the understanding of Irish culture across historical periods and global contexts, emphasizing language, literature, history, and contemporary issues like migration, empire, revolution, religious pluralism, conflict resolution, and peacekeeping. It supports undergraduate and graduate students through minors, fellowships, seminars, and research opportunities, including the renowned IRISH Seminar and partnerships with the Royal Irish Academy. The institute established the first Department of Irish Language and Literature outside Ireland and maintains a world-class Irish Studies collection in the Hesburgh Library.
