• Ranil Wickremesinghe - Current President of Sri Lanka, graduated in 1977 from the University of Colombo. Key achievement: Longest-serving member of parliament in Sri Lanka and has held multiple ministerial positions.
• Shirani Bandaranayake - Former Chief Justice of Sri Lanka, graduated in 1980 from the University of Colombo. Key achievement: First female Chief Justice of Sri Lanka.
