China’s leading universities have posted another year of impressive gains in high-quality research output, according to the newly released Nature Index 2026 Research Leaders rankings. China recorded a 22.4 percent increase in its adjusted Share between 2024 and 2025, the only country among the global top ten to achieve double-digit growth.
