Dr James Sanders is a Lecturer in Digital Health at Loughborough University within the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences. He completed his BSc in Human Biology, MSc in Physical Activity and Public Health, and PhD in Digital Health at Loughborough University. Sanders has held several research positions at the institution, including Enterprise Associate working with commercial partners on projects quantifying human behaviour, and Senior Research Associate on the NIHR-funded Snacktivity project. His research focuses on the accuracy and reliability of mHealth technologies, the design and implementation of digital health behaviour change interventions for inactive adults, and the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning to develop interventions that promote physical activity.
Sanders contributes to the Centre for Lifestyle Medicine and Behaviour, where he leads academic efforts on digital health projects. He has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, including studies on Snacktivity interventions, accelerometer data analysis, and associations between physical activity patterns and health outcomes. His work bridges academia and industry to advance preventive health strategies using novel technologies.
