About Abaineh

Abaineh Degaga Anato is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at Wolaita Sodo University, where he has been employed since September 2010. He currently holds the position of Dean of the College of Business and Economics. Anato obtained his PhD in Public Management and Policy from Addis Ababa University in 2019. During the period from September 2014 to July 2019, he served as a part-time Lecturer in Management at Addis Ababa University while pursuing his doctoral studies. His academic trajectory reflects a strong dedication to the fields of business and economics, with a focus on management practices relevant to Ethiopia's economic landscape.

Anato's research interests encompass management, strategic management, entrepreneurship development, micro and small enterprises (MSEs), and university-industry linkages. His scholarly contributions examine the awareness levels of MSE operators regarding government policies, strategies, and plans for entrepreneurship in Addis Ababa, the connections between personal entrepreneurial competencies (PECS) and both individual and firm-level factors, and the challenges and opportunities in fostering university-industry nexus for innovation in Ethiopia. Key publications co-authored by Anato include 'The link between personal entrepreneurial competencies (PECS) and individual and firm level variables: Evidence from micro and small enterprise (MSEs) operators in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia' (2021), 'Evaluating micro and small enterprises (MSES) operators' awareness of policies, strategies and plans related to entrepreneurship development in Ethiopia: Addis Ababa in focus' (2021), 'Challenges and Opportunities of University-Industry Nexus in Ethiopia: A Systematic Review' (2021), and 'Assessment of contributions of policies and strategies to entrepreneurship development in micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia' (2021). Additional works cover the effects of behavior-based entrepreneurship training on MSE growth and performance. Through these publications, Anato provides valuable empirical evidence to support policy-making and educational initiatives aimed at enhancing entrepreneurial activities and economic development in Ethiopia.
