About Anne

Anne de Bruin is Professor in the Faculty of Business and Economics, Management and International Business at the University of Auckland. She holds the position of Professor Emerita at Massey University, where she previously served as Professor of Economics in the School of Economics and Finance and as founding director of the New Zealand Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research Centre. She completed a Master of Economics at the University of New England in 1978 and a PhD in Economics at Massey University in 1997, with a thesis titled Transformation of the welfare state in New Zealand.

Her research focuses on entrepreneurship, including women's entrepreneurship, social and responsible innovation, labour market studies, and feminist economics. De Bruin has contributed to the academic field through extensive publications on these topics and has held leadership roles in research centres dedicated to enterprising women and social innovation. She maintains an affiliation with the Aotearoa Centre for Enterprising Women at the University of Auckland.
