Anne Thibault Green is an Associate Professor in the Department of Theatre Arts at Eastern Illinois University, where she joined the faculty in 2014 and was awarded tenure effective the 2018-2019 academic year. She earned a B.F.A. in Theatre from Emerson College in 1996 and an M.F.A. in Acting from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 2004. Prior to EIU, she served as an adjunct professor in the theatre department at Columbus State University in Georgia, where she founded and directed Empowered Youth of Columbus, a citywide arts program serving at-risk and incarcerated youth. Green also held the role of Associate Artistic Director at the Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre and has accumulated over twenty years of professional experience as an actress, playwright, director, and applied theatre consultant. Her teaching encompasses courses such as introduction to theatre, acting, directing, scene and character study, performing voice, contemporary American drama, and writing for stage and screen.
Green's creative scholarship includes directing productions like Next to Normal, which was selected for the American College Theatre Festival; The Seagull at Pendragon Theatre, which toured upstate New York and New England; A Bright New Boise; Dogfight; Romeo + Juliet; and A Doll’s House Part II in New York and North Carolina. Recent conference presentations feature Elevate (2024, Tennessee Valley Authority Leadership Development Program), Teaching with Intention (2024), and Winning New Business (2024, co-authored with A. Flynn-McIver). She has performed regionally with North Carolina Stage Company, White River Theatre Festival, and internationally at venues including the Salzburg Seminar and GITIS School in Moscow; toured for three years with the National Shakespeare Company as Lady Macbeth and Lady Capulet; and appeared in television and film such as Strangers with Candy. Green delivers applied theatre workshops for the US Army, Air Force, Deloitte, and PwC. Her service contributions earned the 2022-23 Achievement and Contribution Award in the Service category, alongside an earlier EIU Distinguished Faculty Undergraduate Research Award. She participates in Faculty Senate committees including the Apportionment Board and Booth Collaborative Advisory Committee, advises Honors College students, and serves on institutional boards such as the Doudna Fine Arts Center Planning Committee and Health Services Advisory Board. Professional memberships include Actors' Equity Association, Voice and Speech Trainers Association, and Association for Theatre in Higher Education.
