- Remuneration: $95,981 to $108,257 pa (HEW5) (inclusive of $81,105 to $91,478 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)

- Open to: Current staff members of QUT who have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of the fixed-term appointment. Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Student Support Officer to join Faculty Operations, Faculty of Business and Law.
The Student Support Officer plays an important role in supporting students throughout their higher education journey. The position provides responsive, professional and student-centred support across a range of channels, including face-to-face consultations, phone enquiries, email communication and student events. The role is responsible for providing guidance and advice in relation to QUTβs Manual of Policies and Procedures, particularly learning and teaching policies. This includes assisting students to understand university procedures and supporting them with enquiries and online applications relating to enrolment, course progression, concessions and other student administration matters. Working within a faculty that values a caring, inclusive and welcoming approach, the Student Support Officer will engage with a diverse client group, including students, staff and colleagues across university divisions and departments. The appointee will work collaboratively as part of a busy, client-service focused team, providing high-quality administrative support and service to key stakeholders while contributing to a positive student experience. This position reports to the Student Services Operations Manager for career planning, development and performance expectations.

What you need to succeed
- Completion of a degree or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated ability to provide a high standard of professional, client service in a busy client-orientated environment, including the ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and balance competing demands.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing needs.
- Good written and oral communication skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Interpersonal skills which demonstrate the ability to liase effectively with and provide excellent service to a diverse range of people in a professional manner while maintaining confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to use intermediate functions of office technology software applications including Microsoft Office, e-mail, student/client management systems, social media, and databases.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and Indigenous Australian engagement.
