About Aye Aye

Dr. Aye Aye Myint serves as Professor and Head of the Department of Animal Science at Yezin Agricultural University in Myanmar. She obtained her Ph.D. from the University of the Philippines Los Baños in 2010, with doctoral research focused on the population fluctuation and management of Bactrocera occipitalis, a tephritid fruit fly species, in selected areas of the Philippines. Her professional career commenced as Assistant Supervisor at the Plant Quarantine Office of the Department of Agriculture from 1996 to 1998. From 1998 to 2015, she worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Entomology and Zoology at Yezin Agricultural University, gaining extensive experience in entomological studies before transitioning to leadership in animal science.

Dr. Aye Aye Myint's research interests center on feeds and feeding management, particularly edible insects and small ruminants. She has authored numerous studies published in international journals and contributed to domestic and international research projects, including cricket rearing trials under the ProciNut initiative for edible insect production and presentations at Tropentag conferences on insect consumption practices in Myanmar. Key publications include 'Feeds and Feeding Practices for Dairy Cattle Farming in Myanmar,' co-authored with Ei Ei Win Muang and published in the International Journal of Environment and Rural Development. As Head of Department, she oversees teaching, research, and extension activities in animal science. Her involvement in collaborations such as the CHINLONE project for higher education reform and international visits, including to Kyoto University's Graduate School of Advanced Integrated Studies in Human Survivability, underscores her contributions to agricultural education and sustainable animal nutrition practices.
