About Benjamin

Dr Benjamin Jacobs is an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer in Neurology at the Wolfson Institute of Population Health, Queen Mary University of London. He is a clinical academic neurologist whose work focuses on combining genetics, omics, and data science to improve prediction, prognosis, and treatment of diseases of the nervous system. His research interests include genetics, omics, epidemiology, healthcare inequality and diversity, data science, electronic healthcare records, and cohorts, biobanks, and registries.

Dr Jacobs holds qualifications including BM BCh, MRCP, and MSc. He has contributed to publications such as “Genetic determinants of multiple sclerosis susceptibility in people from diverse ancestral backgrounds” in Neurology (2026), “Single-cell analysis of cerebrospinal fluid reveals common features of neuroinflammation” in Cell Reports Medicine (2025), and “Genetic architecture of routinely acquired blood tests in a British South Asian cohort” in Nature Communications (2024).
