Bridgette Hill, listed professionally as Bridgette Glanville in some university records, serves as an Associate Lecturer (Teaching Scholar) in Speech Pathology within the Faculty of Health at Southern Cross University. She obtained her Bachelor of Speech Pathology (BSpeechPath) from Southern Cross University in 2016, as part of the institution's inaugural graduating cohort for the program. Following her qualification, Hill gained clinical experience as a speech pathologist and held the position of clinical education coordinator. In her current role, she also acts as the Work Integrated Learning Academic Coordinator for Speech Pathology and is pursuing a PhD candidacy, focusing on advancing research in communication challenges.
Hill's research specializations encompass speech pathology clinical education models and voice and communication supports for autistic trans and gender diverse individuals. She contributed as corresponding author to 'Harmonizing Identities: A Scoping Review on Voice and Communication Supports and Challenges for Autistic Trans and Gender Diverse Individuals,' published in 2025 in the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders. This scoping review synthesized 40 sources, revealing that 96.8% of identified challenges pertain to communication, affecting biopsychosocial wellbeing (20%), identity exploration (16.84%), and service delivery barriers, while only 3.2% address voice-specific issues. Supports primarily target communication (91.3%), including adaptive coping strategies, goal setting, and provider training, with calls for enhanced guidelines and specialized speech pathologist training. Hill led the conception, design, analysis, drafting, and revisions. Additionally, she co-authored 'Ready to practice in hospitals? Insights into developing a co-designed speech pathology clinical education model' in 2024 in Higher Education Research & Development, leveraging her clinical background to inform curriculum adaptations from traditional 13-week placements to hospital-integrated co-designed models for improved student preparedness.
