Dr. Carla Riverola is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management at Griffith Business School, Griffith University. She teaches innovation and entrepreneurship and supervises doctoral students in strategy and organisational studies. Riverola joined Griffith University in July 2019 as Lecturer in Entrepreneurship within the Department of Business Strategy and Innovation. Previously, she was affiliated with La Salle – Universitat Ramon Llull in Barcelona, contributing to research on entrepreneurial behaviour and innovation diffusion. She holds an Engineering Degree in Computer Science from La Salle Campus Barcelona, obtained between 2003 and 2008. Her Doctor of Business Administration supports her expertise in management and innovation.
Riverola's research focuses on disruptive innovation for sustainable development at the intersection of entrepreneurship and innovation management. Her work explores vegan food innovations, plant-based diets, consumer adoption of sustainable products, and social network strategies for high-technology firms. She led a study finding that nearly a third of Australians reduced meat intake in recent years and collaborated on research examining COVID-19's impact on restaurants.
