Charlotte Beaman-Evans is a Senior Lecturer in Physical Education in the School of Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Worcester, where she also serves as Sports Scholarship Programme Lead. She leads the UW Sport programme, which supports scholarship athletes and high-performance British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) student athletes in developing their athletic journeys while studying. Nominated as Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) Lead, UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) Lead, and Dual Career Coordinator, she oversees these schemes, providing pastoral and sport science support for dual career athletes on talent pathways. Beaman-Evans continues to play sport competitively, having achieved international status in Rugby alongside notable success in football and hockey.
Beaman-Evans earned her MSc in Sports Science (2013), Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education: Teaching and Learning (2013), Postgraduate Certificate in Secondary Education: Physical Education (2008), and BSc (Hons) in Outdoor Adventure and Leadership Management (2007), all from the University of Worcester. Her teaching spans Outdoor Education, Physical Education, and Sports Coaching; she supports independent research projects focused on dual careers and combining high-performance sport with study. Research interests include fundamental movement skills and their implications for athlete development, talented athlete transitions, dual careers, and athlete lifestyle support in higher education. Additional areas cover students' perceptions of employability skills using visual aids for feedback, emotional freedom techniques for dual career athletes (case study), and developing employability through the 'usemyability' self-audit tool via student academic partnerships. She presented at University of Worcester Annual Learning and Teaching Conferences: 'Developing students employability skills through their active engagement with a self-audit tool and the online resource "usemyability"' (2013, with Chapman, V., Breeze, N., Bowen-Jones, W.); '“The blind leading the blind”: Reflections on inclusive practice from a visually impaired student' (2023, with Richardson, E., Hopkins, A.); and 'Honesty amnesty: An interactive workshop on using anti-doping awareness to develop students’ social responsibility' (2023). Externally, she serves on the TASS Lifestyle Advisory Group.
