Professor Christine Cahill, JD, Esq., is Assistant Dean and Professor of Business Administration in the School of Business at St. Thomas Aquinas College. She holds a B.A. in political science, with high honors, from Binghamton University and a J.D. from Indiana University School of Law at Bloomington, where she served as a member of the Indiana Law Journal. Before entering academia, Cahill practiced corporate law for 13 years at the international firm Winston & Strawn LLP, starting as an associate and becoming a partner in 2004. Her expertise encompassed corporate finance, secured and unsecured lending transactions, investment funds, acquisitions, equity and subordinated debt deals, partnerships, joint ventures, and corporate governance. She is licensed to practice law in New York and Illinois and holds memberships in the New York State Bar Association, Illinois Bar Association, and Rockland County Bar Association.
Since 2009, Cahill has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at St. Thomas Aquinas College, including Business Law, International Business Law, Sports Law and Ethics, and the GMBA Legal Environment of Business. Her research focuses on experiential learning in business education to connect theory with real-world problem-solving, alongside prior work in social equality, gender discrimination, business ethics, and communication styles. She has secured multiple faculty research grants and received the Trustees Award for Excellence. Cahill co-authored the 2015 article 'Examining Pay Differentials in the Legal Field' in the Indiana Journal of Law and Social Equality. As faculty advisor for the IACBE Student Case Study Competition over seven years, her student teams won first place in the 2019 virtual event. She advises the Chess Club, co-advises the Business Club, serves on the Curriculum Committee, and previously sat on the Library Information and Resources Committee. Cahill contributes to community service as a board member of Child Care Resources of Rockland and President of the Academy of Finance board at North Rockland High School. She has accompanied students on study abroad trips to Europe and anticipates leading one to Japan.
