Professor Clare Pollock is the Vice-Chancellor and President of Edith Cowan University, a role she commenced on 30 September 2024. Prior to this appointment, she served as Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost at Western Sydney University, where she also acted as Interim Vice-Chancellor and President. In that capacity, she provided leadership across the university’s twelve academic schools, pathway college, the Whitlam Institute, and offices including the University Secretary, General Counsel, Cybersecurity, and Strategy, Performance and Risk.
Professor Pollock previously held senior leadership positions at Flinders University as Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students). At Curtin University, she served as Associate Provost, Chair of the Academic Board, and Head of the School of Psychology and Speech Pathology. Originally from the United Kingdom, she graduated from Oxford University and the University of London with a PhD in Psychology. Her research has focused on applying psychology to improve safety, particularly in relation to people’s use of technology. She has represented the higher education sector through non-executive director roles on several government, professional, and community boards.
