Dr. Constance Wright serves as Dean of the College of Education and Professor of Education at North Greenville University. She holds a B.A. in Elementary Education from Mars Hill College, an M.A. in Elementary Education from Western Carolina University, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. Wright began her career with seven years in K-12 public education, including as a Title I Reading Specialist for K-1 students. She has since amassed over 16 years in higher education teacher preparation programs, where she has taught courses on Classroom Management, Project-based Learning, PE and Health methods, and Current Issues in Education. Her teaching philosophy supports the development of teachers as caring leaders, effective practitioners, and lifelong learners. Wright maintains professional networks with Greenville County Schools, Pickens County Schools, Spartanburg County Districts 1, 2, and 5, as well as SCASA and SCEDA.
Wright's scholarly work includes key publications such as “The Whole Teacher: Practicing Self-Care” in the International Journal of the Whole Child (2021, Vol. 6, No. 1), "Tech Talk: The Whole Teacher: Practicing Self-Care" (2021), and "Tech Talk: Entering a New Frontier: AI in Education" (2024). Her dissertation, "Personality and Leadership: The Effects on Teacher Job Satisfaction," is documented in the ProQuest Database. She has presented on Service Learning Partnerships in Public Schools, Mimio Software uses with K-6 partners, and Exploring the Relationships among Dispositions Associated with Teacher Effectiveness and Student Learning. Under her leadership as Dean, the College of Education achieved CAEP recognition, NGU was named a Teaching Fellows Institution, an Education Specialist degree was added, combination degree paths for educators were introduced, and job fairs were hosted to connect students with employment opportunities.
