A true inspiration to all who learn.
Daniel Drevon serves as Assistant Professor and Program Director for the School Psychology Specialist and Doctoral programs in the Department of Psychology at Central Michigan University, positions he has held since 2020 following his appointment to the faculty in Fall 2015. A Licensed Psychologist in the state of Michigan and Nationally Certified School Psychologist, Drevon earned his Ph.D. in School Psychology from Central Michigan University in 2011. Prior to his academic career, he completed an APA-accredited predoctoral internship at Fort Worth Independent School District in Texas and post-doctoral hours toward licensure at the same district and Community Mental Health for Central Michigan.
Drevon's research program identifies evidence-based academic and behavioral interventions effective for school-age children within multi-tiered systems of support, conceptualized from a behavior-analytic perspective. He conducts applied studies using single-case experimental designs including multiple baseline, withdrawal, and adapted alternating treatments designs. Drevon also performs systematic reviews and meta-analyses of such interventions, employing advanced quantitative techniques like improved effect size measures, synthesis of between-group and single-case data, and modeling dependencies among multiple effect sizes per study. Notable publications include 'Intercoder Reliability and Validity of WebPlotDigitizer in Extracting Graphed Data' (Behavior Modification, 2017); 'The relationship between intercoder reliability of data extraction and effect measure calculation in single-case meta-analysis' (School Psychology Review, 2025, with Peart and Koval); 'A comparison of single-case effect measures in determining the effectiveness of check-in check-out' (Behavior Modification, 2024, with Peart and Jasper); 'Gaining Headspace: A classroom-based mindfulness intervention to promote attention for primary students' (Psychology in the Schools, 2024, with Rigney and Hixson); and 'The impact of the Quiet Classroom Game on on-task behavior and classroom noise level in three middle school classrooms' (Journal of Behavioral Education, 2023, with Chapman and Jasper). He has delivered presentations at the National Association of School Psychologists Annual Convention and Association for Behavior Analysis International’s Single Case Conference.
