Dr. Daniel Juckes serves as a Lecturer in Creative Writing within the School of Humanities at the University of Western Australia, specifically in the Discipline of English and Literary Studies. Originating from Perth, Western Australia, he is a dedicated writer whose academic journey includes a PhD in Creative Writing from Curtin University, awarded with the Chancellor’s Commendation. In his professional roles, Juckes holds the position of General Editor at Westerly Magazine, contributing significantly to the literary community through editorial leadership. He has also taken on guest editing responsibilities for TEXT: Journal of Writing and Writing Courses, co-editing with Stefanie Markidis the special issues 'Creativecritical spaces: practice, pedagogy, methodology, the ineffable' (2024, volume 28, special issue 72) and 'Creativecritical selves: Interconnection, dialogue, entanglement, love' (2024, volume 28, special issue 73), including their respective introductions.
