David Beimers is a Professor of Social Work at Minnesota State University, Mankato, having joined the faculty in 2008. He completed his doctoral degree at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and holds a Master of Social Work from Augsburg College. As a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), Beimers teaches courses across both the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) programs in the College of Allied Health and Nursing. He also serves as the Interim Director of the Chesley Center on Aging and is affiliated with the university's Aging Studies program, located at 333 Trafton Science Center North.
Beimers' research specializations include welfare reform, research methods, program evaluation, employment and training programs, supported employment, and survey design. His scholarly contributions appear in numerous peer-reviewed journals, focusing on policy practice, mental health, substance abuse, rural social work, and child welfare.
