Associate Professor Don Carter is an Associate Professor in the School of International Studies and Education at the University of Technology Sydney. He serves as the discipline head for the initial teacher education programs. Dr Don Carter holds a PhD and is committed to the provision of quality education for young people, particularly the development and implementation of effective writing programs. His career history includes roles as a senior lecturer in English education at UTS, teaching English and History in secondary schools, inspector of English, and head teacher. He has expertise in school-based curriculum, literacy development, and the teaching of literature.
Dr Carter's research specializations include standardized testing, curriculum, and teacher education. He has 38 publications on ResearchGate with 395 citations.
