Elisabeth Taylor is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the School of Education at Murdoch University, holding this position from July 2024 to June 2026. She currently serves as Associate Professor and Postgraduate Research Coordinator in the School of Education at The University of Notre Dame Australia in Fremantle. Her distinguished career includes roles as Senior Lecturer at Edith Cowan University from February 2017 to July 2024, previous Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Murdoch University from January 2014 to December 2016, and Senior Lecturer at Curtin University from January 2004 to November 2013, during which she coordinated the Bachelor of Education (Secondary) and Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education programs. Taylor obtained her PhD from Curtin University of Technology in 2003. With a background in science education, she has worked extensively as a teacher educator, researcher in transformative education, and as a counselor and art therapist.
Taylor's research specializations encompass ethical dilemma story pedagogy (EDSP) for values learning and ethical understanding, transformative STEAM education for sustainable development, education for sustainability (EfS), culturally responsive transformative teaching (CRTT), environmental literacy and sustainability in chemistry learning, resilience to violent extremism via mindfulness and art therapy, constructivist approaches in science and values education, and cultural heritage conservation and preservation education.
