Eric Gauthier, MD, serves as Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Larner College of Medicine, University of Vermont. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Vermont. Gauthier completed his residency in Internal Medicine, fellowship in General Cardiology, and fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the University of Vermont Medical Center. He holds board certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology. In addition to his academic role, he is Site Leader for Cardiovascular Services and Director of the Cardiovascular Catheterization Laboratory at the University of Vermont Health Network Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH). He also acts as Medical Director of Invasive Cardiology and the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at CVPH, Chair of the CVPH Multidisciplinary Peer Review Committee, Chair of the CVPH Medical Group Leadership Committee and Campus Advisory Committee, and Practice Leader for UVMHN-CVPH Interventional Cardiology.
Gauthier's clinical expertise focuses on interventional cardiology, including the treatment of cardiovascular disease, ischemic heart disease, congestive heart failure, percutaneous coronary intervention such as angioplasty and stenting, and diagnostic coronary angiography. His research interests encompass interventional cardiology, treatment of ischemic heart disease, and acute coronary syndrome.
