Erin Kim-Rich serves as a Lecturer in English, Literacies and Language Education within the School of Education at the University of New England. She earned her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education (Honours Class 1 and University Medal) from the University of Sydney, and is pursuing PhD candidature at the same university. Her doctoral research examines supporting English language learners in mainstream English classrooms. Kim-Rich possesses extensive teaching experience across Australian secondary schools, international settings, and tertiary institutions, with a specialization in Secondary English curriculum. She coordinates and teaches key units including Secondary English Curriculum 1 (EDEE330), Secondary English Curriculum 2 (EDEE331), and Secondary English Curriculum 3: Specialist Senior Studies (EDEE332).
Kim-Rich's research specializations encompass Secondary English Curriculum; Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) pedagogy; intercultural collaboration, social inclusion, and culturally relevant pedagogy; student creativity, engagement, access, and equity; multimodal and digital literacies; and teacher education and professional learning. Her disciplinary interests include digital and multimodal literacies, intercultural collaboration, social inclusion, and culturally relevant pedagogy. Notable contributions include the chapter 'Literacies, language, and schooling: Exploring writing pedagogy for English language learners' co-authored with J. Curwood (2023), published in R. Tierney, F. Rizvi, and K. Ercikan (Eds.), International Encyclopedia of Education (4th edition), pp. 65-75, Elsevier.
