Farahezza Hairon Nizar is a lecturer in the Department of General Studies within the Faculty of Humanities and Health Sciences at Curtin University Malaysia. She holds a Master of Philosophy in Theology, Ethics and Contemporary Issues from the International Islamic University Malaysia, awarded in 2010, with a thesis titled 'Shirin Ebadi’s Conception on the Sanctity of Muslims Women in the Modern World,' supervised by Sayyid Ajmal M. Razak Al-Aidrus. With more than a decade of teaching experience, she previously served in the Department of Culture and Language Studies and currently also acts as Digital Content Coordinator in the Faculty Office. Her teaching focuses on compulsory MPU units, including MPU 3192: Philosophy and Current Issues and MPU 3232: Leadership & Digital Entrepreneurship, which support students' personal and academic growth, responsible citizenship, and essential humanity skills in the Malaysian context.
Though new to research, Farahezza Hairon Nizar's passion lies in volunteerism, reflected in her extensive contributions to university and community initiatives. She has coordinated events such as the Made in Curtin Entrepreneurship Carnival, Entrepreneurial Bazaar, Child Protection Advocacy Programme featuring a mural at SK Merbau, women's health awareness outreach in Kampung Bidayuh, Bidayuh youth cultural preservation workshop using technology, and the SLICE service learning programme. As part of the GlobeCoRes 2024 and 2025 organising committees, she led SDG competitions and media activities. Additional roles include facilitating guest lectures on ESG, SDGs, and sustainable start-ups, student volunteering at Kompleks Kebajikan Hamidah Yakup, and donations to primary schools like SK Temenggong Datuk Muip from ethnic food carnivals. These efforts enhance student leadership, soft skills, entrepreneurship, sustainability awareness, and community engagement, aligning with Curtin Malaysia's commitment to holistic education that produces morally grounded, adaptable graduates valued by employers.
