Dr. Frazer Cairns is the Provost, Vice-President, and Head of Academic Operations at Constructor University. A British education leader with a robust background in international schooling, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of York, an MBA from Warwick Business School, and Master's and Doctorate degrees in Education. His doctoral research centered on the role of bilingualism in international education and the dynamics of language use in multilingual educational environments, areas to which he continues to contribute.
Cairns began his career as a management consultant and journalist following his undergraduate studies. He later retrained as a science teacher, teaching in the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Singapore, and Switzerland, while advancing to school leadership roles in these international contexts. He served as Head of the Dover Campus at the United World College of South East Asia (UWCSEA) and as Director of the International School of Lausanne (ISL) from 2017 to 2025. During his time at ISL, he chaired the Board of the Swiss Group of International Schools (SGIS), promoting collaboration among international educational institutions. At Constructor University, Dr. Cairns manages academic operations, delivers opening remarks at major events like Career Days 2026, honors international scholarship graduates such as Bolashak scholars, participates in alumni weekends in New York City, and supports high-profile initiatives including the university's leadership in the €5M 'Learning Empire' research effort on China's global educational influence. His extensive experience in cultivating purposeful, holistic, and inclusive school cultures in diverse, multilingual settings informs his contributions to higher education administration and student career development at Constructor University.
